Dr Ayda Khidr is the Consultant Paediatric Anaesthesiologist at Al Basar’s eye hospital in Sudan. She is a woman of action and an inspiration, setting up the hospitals first general anaesthesiology department.
It takes these determined giants to have an impact on the lives of those we severe and bring an end to avoidable blindness.
The biggest challenge is the problem that most of the patients are coming from outside of Khartoum. And they have no place to stay here, they are poor, they cannot arrange for residence. And many times I am the one who ask the people.
