BIF recipient of Hamdan Medical Award

We are delighted to announce that Al Basar International Foundation has been recognised at the 12th Hamdan Medical Award ceremony  (2021-2022) for our commitment and contribution to humanitarian medical services. The prestigious Hamdan Award for Volunteers in Humanitarian Medical Services was conferred upon us at the grand ceremony held at the Museum of the Future in Dubai.

This year’s theme centred on infectious diseases, an area of crucial importance and relevance in today’s global health landscape. The ceremony was presided over by Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Supreme Chairman of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance and Patron of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences.

H.E. Abdul Rahman Al Owais, the UAE Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hamdan Medical Award, welcomed all attendees and underscored the significant role of the health sector in the UAE. He highlighted the legacy of the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whose inspiring devotion to improving lives and fostering knowledge continues to shape the nation.

As a recipient of the Hamdan Award for Volunteers in Humanitarian Medical Services, we are deeply honoured. This award bears witness to the dedication and impact of our team at Al Basar International Foundation. It shines a spotlight on our continuous efforts in providing humanitarian medical services, particularly in the area of eye care.

On receiving the award, our CEO Dr Muhammed Al Qahtani, expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying,

This recognition is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our team at Al Basar International Foundation. Our mission has always been to provide quality eye care services to the less fortunate globally, especially in regions where health services are lacking. To be recognised at such a prestigious platform is an incredible honour. We are committed to our cause – we envision a world where no one is needlessly blind or visually impaired. This award fuels our determination to continue our mission, and we are profoundly grateful for this acknowledgment.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance for recognising and encouraging our efforts. Here’s to the brighter future that we are dedicated to building, one person at a time.
