How we conduct Outreach Programmes
For over 35 years, Al Basar has conducted outreach programmes in more than 40 countries, restoring eyesight for millions and transforming lives. Our structured approach ensures that communities with the greatest need receive quality eye care. Here’s how our outreach programmes are carried out:
1. Needs assessment
Our local teams conduct a thorough needs assessment to identify areas where access to medical eye care is most limited. This ensures our efforts are directed to communities that need it most.
2. Community awareness
Once a location is selected, we initiate awareness campaigns to inform local communities about the upcoming free medical eye camp. This helps ensure that those in need are aware of the medical services that will be available to them in the upcoming days.

3. Medical camp execution
Our team of skilled doctors’ travel to the designated location to provide essential eye care services. Over several days, they conduct eye screenings, perform cataract surgeries, and distribute glasses to those in need.
4. Post-operative care & follow-up
We prioritise patient recovery by conducting post-operative check-ups to monitor progress and address any concerns. Follow-ups are scheduled to ensure long-term success and continued eye health.

Through this structured process, we restore and protect vision, enabling individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Our outreach programmes are a testament to our commitment to fighting preventable blindness worldwide. Donate today and help prevent blindness in vulnerable communities.
